Ketamine for OCD

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can be profoundly disabling, and many patients find standard treatments — SSRIs and CBT — insufficient. Ketamine therapy is emerging as a promising option for treatment-resistant OCD.

Small but encouraging studies show ketamine can rapidly reduce OCD symptom severity. The mechanism may involve ketamine's disruption of compulsive thought loops through NMDA receptor modulation and downstream glutamate signaling changes.
